A LiveJournal-specific little quiz, stolen from
rua1412.
How did you come to start your LJ?
I’m not entirely sure. I think it was because my crush at the time had one and I wanted to read his journal.
How did you find your first friends?
Through the Star Trek XI fandom, I think.
Are those first friends still on your FL?
Nah, we lost touch a few years ago. Different fandoms, moving on, etc.
How long have you been on LJ?
Technically since 2007 or maybe even 2006, but I deleted those accounts and started afresh in 2008 with this one.
Do you have more friends or communities on your FL?
More communities.
Do you do a lot of friends cuts?
Not really…I usually cut people if it seems that they left LJ (i.e. they haven’t updated in months/years without notice), or we literally never talk, or I don’t remember who you are or why I should care (sorry if that sounds mean!).
What do you like in an LJ friend?
The same kind of qualities I would like in an offline friend: Intelligence, being interesting, someone who shares the same general thought process as me?
What do you dislike in an LJ friend?
I don’t know. I don’t tend to dislike my friends.
What would make you un-friend someone immediately?
Constant complaining about something dumb. Immaturity. Hatred for various groups. Certain kinds of attitudes…it’s kind of hard to explain.
Have you been caught up in a lot of LJ drama?
No.
Do real-life friends and family members know you have a journal on LJ?
Yes, my real-life friends do and most of them are LJ members as well. My family doesn’t really care.
Do you also have Facebook and if so, what do you prefer – LJ or FB?
I do have a Facebook, but I’m considering deleting it because I never use it. I prefer LJ.
What about Twitter?
Yes, I use Twitter a lot.
Do you blog on any other sites?
I’m very active on Tumblr and I sometimes update my journal on deviantART.
How often do you check in on LJ?
A few times per day.
What do you rarely or never post about?
I don’t know. Things that don’t interest me?
Why don't you post about that?
Because it doesn’t interest me. Why would I waste time talking about cars when I care not about cars?
Have you ever thought about deleting your journal?
Nope.
Have you ever changed your username?
No.
Why did you choose your current username?
I made this journal on a November morning, I think; as I was musing over what username I should use, I looked out the window and noticed a light frost on the ground. Bam, I went with that.
If you're looking for new friends, how do you find them?
I wait for a friending meme to fall into my lap, haha. Or I try and join some more communities relevant to my interests.
Are you taking new people on to your Friends List just now?
I don’t have specific dates for making friends. I add people whenever I like. Which isn’t often, but, you know.
Finally, tell us the reasons why you keep an online journal.
I have no idea. Because it’s fun? Because it’s cathartic to type out my emotions and stuff?
